Nails by Kerry (NBK) is so much more than just nails - it’s a little escape from everyday life. A place where my clients can take a break, switch off, and enjoy some well-deserved time to themselves, filled with pampering, laughs, chats and a little bit of sparkle. Over the years, I’ve grown to absolutely adore my clients and the relationships we’ve built, from hearing their life stories and celebrating their milestones to simply catching up and having a laugh. I’m so proud of the little NBK community we’ve created, and my dream is to expand and spread the sparkly pink NBK touch across Dublin even further. With a multitude of services on offer, there’s something for everyone at NBK.

NBK Story

Some would say I have always had a passion for nails...

My nail journey began with my Christmas list at five years old, requesting nail products as gifts. I celebrated my 9th birthday with a nail painting party, dressing up in pink and recruiting two nail techs to tend to me and my friends’ nails. Most young girls want a simple Disney princess themed bedroom, but growing up you can probably guess what theme I had... yes, I even got my Dad to renovate my childhood bedroom into a nail salon-themed room, where I forced my family to be pretend clients.

As I grew older, my passion became stronger. At the age of 14, my dad then built a small nail table to start doing nails for friends in our spare room. From 15 years old, I started to train in nails, qualifying in October 2018. I took on my first client from the same spare room, from which I worked in until 2020, when COVID lockdown hit.

Together, my Dad and I decided it was time to expand to my own salon. I wanted to turn my passion into a full-time job. He took on the task of building the infamous Nails by Kerry salon, brick by brick. We had so much fun painting and designing the room together and imaging the possibilities of NBK.

My salon is everything I had ever dreamed of – pink, gold, and sparkles! As a business owner himself, my dad and I always bonded over my small business, from the construction and designing of the salon, to running the business itself.

From a young age my dad always helped me pursue my dream career of becoming a nail tech in any way he could. Unfortunately, my dad only got to see me live my dream in my perfect salon for a year, as he sadly and unexpectedly passed away in May 2021.

The salon is now not only my dream place to work but now holds an extra special place in my heart, as my dad will always be part of the NBK brand and legendary pink salon he built. I love coming to work in my salon, it’s become my happy place.

I have since gone on to win awards and have gotten great opportunities to work with other brands and be featured in magazines. Little Kerry in her bedroom salon would be so proud!
